Why Do I Need an Oil Catch Can?

Blow-by is caused when combustion makes its way past your piston rings and into the crankcase.  From there, the blow-by is released by the crank case vents and back into your intake system, coating hoses, intake piping, intake manifold and pistons along the way. While this blow by occurs in all engines, as you begin to make more power the amount of combustion and oil vapor making its way through will only get worse over time.

An oil catch can is placed in line and works to remove the oil and other fluids from this mixture, allowing the air to continue moving and eventually making its way back to the engine or vents it out into the air.
